TripIt alternative for iPhone
Six differences, each with the source it came from.
Short answer: if you want an itinerary without giving an app access to your mailbox, Triphaus is the closer fit. You hand it the booking confirmation yourself — a PDF, a photo or a screenshot — and the itinerary is built from that file. The TripIt App Store listing describes the opposite route: you send the confirmation to a TripIt address, or you connect your inbox so itineraries are created for you 1.
The second difference is language. Triphaus runs its interface and its AI output in seven languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Simplified Chinese, Hindi and Ukrainian. The TripIt App Store listing names five — English, French, German, Japanese and Spanish 2.
The third is how you pay. Triphaus sells one-time trip packs and an optional annual plan, so nothing renews unless you pick the annual plan. TripIt Pro is a recurring yearly in-app purchase 3.
Side by side
| Difference | Triphaus | TripIt |
|---|---|---|
| How a booking gets in | You upload the confirmation in the app: PDF, photo or screenshot. | Send the confirmation to a TripIt address, or connect your inbox so itineraries are created for you 1. |
| Mailbox access | None. Triphaus never connects to a mail account. | Connecting your inbox is the route the listing describes for automatic itineraries 1. |

Where TripIt is the better choice
Three cases where we would not switch either.
- You want to be told when your flight changes. TripIt Pro advertises real-time flight status alerts and disruption notices 4; Triphaus has no flight tracking yet.
- You want the same itinerary on iPad, Mac, Apple Watch or Apple Vision. The TripIt listing covers all of them 5; Triphaus is an iPhone app.
- You want itineraries to appear without opening an app at all. That is what the inbox connection in the TripIt listing is for 1; Triphaus needs you to hand it the file.
Where Triphaus is the better choice
Five cases that follow from the same design decision.
- Your mailbox stays yours. There is no mail connection to grant and none to revoke — you pick the file, Triphaus reads it.
- Your confirmations do not arrive as tidy emails. A screenshot from a group chat, a photo of a printed ticket, a PDF a colleague sent you: those are the inputs Triphaus is built for.
- You want the plan in your language. Seven for the interface and for the AI output, switchable at any time.
- You travel twice a year, not twenty times. Trip packs are one-time purchases — nothing renews in the background.
- The uploaded file is deleted from the Triphaus server immediately after the answer. Only the extracted plan stays, on your iPhone.
What Triphaus cannot do
Saying this here is cheaper than saying it after you have paid.
- iPhone only. No Android, no web app.
- No flight tracking and no delay alerts yet.
- The free plan covers one AI trip and one stored trip. Beyond that you buy a pack or the annual plan.
- No automatic import. Nothing lands in your itinerary unless you upload it.
Common questions
- Is Triphaus a full TripIt replacement?
- No, and we would rather say so here. If you rely on flight status alerts 4, or on the itinerary being on your Mac and your Apple Watch 5, TripIt covers ground Triphaus does not. If what you want is a clean itinerary built from the files you already have, without a mail connection, Triphaus does that.
- Do I have to give Triphaus access to my email?
- No. Triphaus has no mail connection at all: you choose a file, the AI reads it, and the file is deleted from the server immediately afterwards. The TripIt listing describes the inbox route as the way itineraries get created automatically 1; Triphaus has no equivalent.
- Can I bring an existing itinerary across?
- Not automatically — Triphaus connects to no other travel account. What does work: if you can save or print an itinerary as a PDF, upload that PDF like any other booking document and the AI reads it.
Try it on one trip
The free plan includes one AI trip. Upload one confirmation and see whether the itinerary that comes back is the one you wanted.
